Hello! My name is Rain! I'm just someone who likes to write and is trying to figure out how to code.

February 2024

Please note that I have watched a lot more movies and tv shows and listened to a lot of music, but these were just some of my favorites

Legally Blonde: The Musical

I don’t know if everyone knows this, but I love this musical so much! It doesn’t take itself too seriously, and the ensemble is fun and unique characters. The songs are so catchy and cute. They really did a good job creating Elle and Emmett’s chemistry. It feels a lot more natural and genuine compared to the movie. Plus, he’s played by Christian Borle; what more do you want me to say? But seriously, this show sticks to the source material’s message of female empowerment and is a blast to watch. Laura Bell Bundy brings Elle’s character to new heights with her energetic and optimistic delivery. The cast album has made its way into my permanent rotation.

Bottoms

I’ve seen tumblr go crazy over this movie, and I couldn’t wait for the right time to watch it. Then, one wonderful Thursday, I opened my laptop and was graced with the pleasure that is this movie. PJ and Josie’s plan is so stupid, you can’t help but want it to succeed, just to see how far they go through with it; kind of like a car crash that you can’t look away from. I found myself laughing, crying, and cringing alongside these girls in the fight club. It was refreshing to see the crazy amount of blood in this film. As a casual blood and guts enjoyer, this was right up my alley. It fit perfectly with the comedic vibes of the movie. Also, let me say that Hazel is so me :3. I loved her blunt honesty and her genuine love for her friends (and explosives). Ruby Cruz really knocked it out of the park with that one. Another thing: I too would start a fight club just to be friends with Havana Rose Liu.

That is all

Ride the Cyclone

Oh, boy! Ride the Cyclone is so great. I know I say this about every film I put on my letterboxd and this list. I’m just not that good at articulating myself when it comes to things I like. However, this musical is so out there, I don’t know what else to say.

I hate Ocean, but she’s also one of the little voices in my head that wants me to be perfect, so I can’t complain about her. Noel’s a little freak. Mischa is such a complex character; perhaps the best-written in the show. In the beginning, he’s the stereotypical lonesome emo guy, but through “This Song Is Awesome” and “Talia” we learn that his angst is totally valid. My heart goes out to him and especially for Talia. Then there’s Constance. The show writers did her a big disservice by putting her arc so late in the show. I related to her story in some parts, specifically when she expresses wanting to be seen as more than “the nicest girl in town”. All I can say is #justiceforconstance. Last but not least, we have Jane Doe, aka: me (not really). Once again, my heart breaks for her story and death. Her song is so epic, and it has me almost sacrificing my vocal chords for it. That being said, I’m glad she got her happy ending.

About Me!

As you all know, I go by the name, Rain (it's just an internet persona btw). My pronouns are she/her. I don't believe in astrology, but I know my star sign is a Virgo. I was born in the year of '07, and that's all you get to know about me personally.

I love to write, which was the main reason for creating this blog. I have a ton of ideas, but posting them to Tumblr lowkey scares me. That's why I like having my own little spot on the internet just for me (✿◠‿◠)
